Roman’s Pizza has vowed to conduct a thorough investigation following the circulation of a viral video that raised concerns about hygiene practices at one of its franchised locations. The clip, which has sparked public outrage, shows a staff member cleaning what appears to be a previously used pizza box. Allegations have surfaced suggesting that used boxes are being cleaned and reused for new orders.

 

In the video, the female employee is seen wiping down an oil-stained pizza box with a cloth, leading to widespread criticism on social media. John Nicolakakis, CEO of Roman’s Pizza, responded swiftly, stating that the company is taking the matter seriously. He confirmed that the incident took place at the Daveyton branch in Mayfield Square Shopping Centre and assured customers that the company is fully committed to addressing the concerns. Nicolakakis emphasized that Roman’s Pizza remains dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene across all of its locations and is investigating the matter to ensure such incidents do not happen again.
