Laura Lynch, a founding member of the American country music group the Dixie Chicks, has died in a car accident.
She is 65 years old.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said she died after being involved in a two-vehicle collision near El Paso on Friday.
Reacting to the news, the band’s current members said in an Instagram post that they were “shocked and saddened”.
