Instagram’s New Photo Cut-Out Feature: Create Custom Stickers from Your Images
Instagram is in the process of testing an innovative sticker option that involves a photo cut-out feature. This feature empowers users to transform objects within their photos into stickers, offering a creative way to enhance Stories and Reels.
This new sticker option allows you to pinpoint specific objects or entities within your photos and then seamlessly cut them out for use as stickers. It’s a reminiscent process of Apple’s photo cut-out feature introduced in iOS 16, where you can isolate the subject of a photo and use it as a separate, sticker-like image in various applications like emails and messages.
While this feature isn’t entirely unique, it provides Instagram users with a handy tool to craft custom stickers tailored for the platform.
Moreover, Instagram’s CEO, Adam Mosseri, has revealed that you can create stickers not only from your own photos stored in your camera roll but also from “eligible images you see on Instagram.” Publicly posted images appear to be included, although there’s currently no specific opt-out setting for cut-out usage.
It’s possible that such an option may be introduced in the future, depending on the feature’s reception. Instagram is currently testing this new cut-out feature with a select group of users.
