There is no single AdSense payout for 1,000 pageviews. The most useful way to estimate revenue is to use Page RPM: the estimated revenue generated for every 1,000 pageviews. Google defines Page RPM as estimated earnings divided by pageviews, multiplied by 1,000.

Quick formula: estimated revenue = pageviews / 1,000 x Page RPM. Use the free AdSense Earnings Calculator to test your own traffic and RPM.

AdSense revenue per 1,000 pageviews

If your Page RPM is $2, then 1,000 pageviews would mathematically correspond to about $2 in estimated revenue. At a $5 Page RPM, the same 1,000 pageviews correspond to $5; at $10 RPM, about $10. These are planning examples, not market averages or guaranteed rates.

Pageviews $2 RPM $5 RPM $10 RPM
1,000 $2 $5 $10
10,000 $20 $50 $100
100,000 $200 $500 $1,000
1,000,000 $2,000 $5,000 $10,000

Why AdSense earnings vary

Two sites with the same traffic can earn very different amounts. Audience geography, topic, commercial intent, advertiser demand, device mix, seasonality, ad viewability, consent rates, traffic quality and page layout can all influence monetization. This is why your own AdSense Page RPM is more useful than a generic number copied from another website.

Page RPM is not the same as CPC or CPM

Page RPM is a publisher revenue metric based on pageviews. CPC describes the value of a click. CPM describes cost or revenue per 1,000 impressions depending on context. They answer different questions, so do not multiply a random CPC by pageviews and assume that is your AdSense income.

How many pageviews are needed for $1,000 per month?

Reverse the formula: required pageviews = target revenue / Page RPM x 1,000. At a $5 Page RPM, a $1,000 monthly target would require about 200,000 pageviews. At $10 RPM, about 100,000. Again, these are mathematical scenarios.

Use your real data

If the site already runs AdSense, open your reports and use your actual Page RPM in the calculator. If the site is new, test several conservative and optimistic RPM scenarios rather than relying on a single promise.
