Hot to fix CrowdStrike Windows blue screen error ? SOLVED

In response to the ongoing IT outage affecting Windows systems globally, users on the IT System Administrators forum on Reddit have proposed a temporary solution to address the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) error caused by a defective CrowdStrike software update.

According to posts in the /r/sysadmin subreddit, the following steps may help resolve the Windows 10 BSOD issue:

  1. Boot Windows into Safe Mode or Recovery Environment: Start your computer in Safe Mode or use the Recovery Environment to access system files and settings.
  2. Navigate to the CrowdStrike Directory: Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike on your system.
  3. Delete the Problematic File: Locate the file that matches the pattern “C-00000291*.sys” and delete it.
  4. Reboot Windows 10: Restart your computer to complete the process.

Reddit users suggest that booting into Safe Mode with Networking during these steps will allow the problematic CrowdStrike file to be automatically updated to a newer, patched version as soon as it becomes available. However, this automatic update might take some time. For a quicker solution, booting into Safe Mode and manually deleting the problematic file can provide an immediate fix.

This temporary fix is intended to mitigate the effects of the CrowdStrike software defect until a permanent solution is deployed by the cybersecurity firm. Users are advised to follow these steps carefully and consult with IT professionals if needed.
