Davis was injured after receiving a basic blow from Jaguars holding midfielder Dequan Jackson when he tried to catch a pass from James Blackman. Jackson appears to have made helmet-to-helmet contact with Davis, who drew an unnecessarily rough flag after the game.
Davis remained motionless on the field after the game and was quickly surrounded by players and coaches on both sides. Paramedics restrained Davis before placing him on a stretcher and transporting him off the field in a stroller.
Davis, 24, has been signed as an untrained freelance agent in Western Kentucky, where he was named to the 2022 United States Conference Honor Mention Team. This is the second pre-season game to be halted in 2023 due to injury. The Patriots-Packers pre-season game last week was suspended following the injury of Patriots full-back Isaiah Bolden, who was released from the hospital and returned to the team.
