A Sarasota woman, Alicia Kincheloe, has been convicted of aggravated animal cruelty and evidence tampering related to a disturbing Snapchat video depicting the burning of a raccoon in September 2022. In October 2023, a jury determined that the 31-year-old intentionally subjected the raccoon to torture by setting it on fire in a waste bin, recording the act, and sharing it on Snapchat.

On December 19, Alicia Kincheloe was sentenced to 45 days in an offender work program, which she must complete within 315 days of her sentencing. In addition to the work program, she received a two-year community control sentence and three years of probation, as per court records. Kincheloe is obligated to carry out 100 hours of community service, a requirement that can be fulfilled after completing the offender work program.
