Tap the Emojis menu to change the default emoji for the conversation, and choose the crescent moon 🌙.
Then send the emoji to your contact, you will see an animation with several crescents, then a new window showing you have unlocked the dark mode.
You can then enable or disable the dark mode in your settings.
Keep in mind that if this method does NOT work, Facebook may have not rolled out the feature to your account yet.
If it did work, ,CONGRATS ! We hope you enjoy your new Dark mode!
Facebook is now launching the ability to share 360 Degree Photos and HD high definition quality videos straight to Messenger.
Visuals are always the best way to add delightful expression and meaningful emotions to chats. Earlier this year Facebook had shared that the ability to send photos, videos, stickers and GIFs in Messenger and has continued to make these features richer, sharper, and better with the introduction of 360-degree photos in Messenger.
360-degree photos and panoramic photos give you the ability to share more immersive views of the world — be it stunning landscapes, ocean view from your hotel room, or the way your new apartment looks – the world gets better to share.
High resolution photo news was introduced last fall and Facebook is now launching the ability to share high definition quality videos straight to Messenger. Many smartphones capture videos with HD resolution, and now people on Messenger can send and receive HD quality, 720p videos straight from their camera roll.
These updates go hand in hand with other improvements Facebook has been rolling out to Messenger recently. For example, it officially upgraded photo sharing to 4k last November, Though this new update presents the same difficulty that the previous one did — namely that you need to have a phone capable of taking HD video or the aforementioned 4K photos before you can send them out to anyone on Messenger.
Both 360 degree photos and HD videos are easy to identify in Messenger. You will see a compass icon on the right-hand side of a panoramic photo. The videos will also be easily identifiable with a HD or SD marker. If you’d like, you can change the quality right from the marker on the lower right side when in full screen mode.
360 degree photos in Messenger are currently available globally on both iOS and Android. HD quality videos are available in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UK and the US on iOS and Android.
